Love technology

Okay, so a day in the 80s without technology would be super different from today. There were no cell phones, no tablets, no internet. I mean, if you wanted to talk to a friend, you had to call them on the house phone (one of those that was stuck to the wall!) or go to their house and ring the doorbell.
To have fun, I'd go outside and play with my friends. We played hide and seek, jumped rope, or used those old-school roller skates with four wheels. We rode our bikes all day. Our parents didn't really know exactly where we were, but as long as we came back before it got dark, it was fine.
If I stayed at home, I'd read books, draw, or listen to music on a cassette tape (it's like a little plastic box with tape inside). You had to rewind it with a pencil if it got stuck. It was kind of a skill!
On TV, there were only a few channels, and shows came on at specific times. No watching whatever you want whenever you want. You had to wait a whole week for the next episode of your favorite show.
And if you needed information for homework, you had to use an encyclopedia—big books full of facts. You couldn't just Google it.
But it was still really fun! You spent more time with real people, and everything felt simpler. Life kind of moved slower."
